One in four Veterans are homeless

One in four Veterans are homeless (National)

US War Veterans are comprising 25 percent of the nation’s homeless population yet they represent just 11 percent of the adult population. These statistics mean there are far too many former military personnel that are no longer looked after by our US Government. The Veterans Affair Department said that 400 of 1500 homeless Veterans attempted to participate in homeless programs targeting recovery. These War Veterans are trying to get help but in reality are looking in all the wrong places.

It is the job of the US government to seek out these homeless Veterans are provide them with the resources and care they deserve after they risked their lives in battle to maintain the freedom we now enjoy today. I like the idea of supporting our troops but its about time we think about supporting are former troops.
